Dreamland

It was the Spring of Summer
When Winter turned to Autumn
And the trees budded
In their kaleidoscopic array

Fruit hung heavy on blossomed limbs
And the morning dew sparkled
In the heat of the afternoon
While I lay in my hammock
Walking beside the bank of the river

I could hear the rabble-babble
Of the brook within
And thought of you
Thankful for your constant presence

I wondered if you had found happiness
In the chaos of forgotten souls
That wandered this mortal realm
Of angels and demons

I watched the glory
Of the setting moons
While their rainbow hung high in the heavens
Circling the effervescent crescent sun

In the quiet of the moment
Amidst the sounds of beast and fauna
I harkened to the melody
Of the calming alarm

And awoke
